"I wrote this song year ago somewhere on the Goldhawk road" is about he ended up in a demo studio with Marianne Faithfull and wrote this song while being very drunk and gave it to her and forgot about it.
Till later Marianne recorded it under the name "Last song".
When Damon got the original demo back and was playing it when he was in the studio recording "The good, the bad and the queen" the rest of the band tought it would be a good idea to record it again, but with differend lyrics, exept for the chorus.
