I'm listening to this song right now, kind of thinking of the irony.

This guy is singing about how he feels that he has to leave England and move on to somewhere better. He doesn't know where he should move on to, but there's a "red light blinking in the twilight tracing out a path right out of here and now."

The song means so much to me, because I'm sitting here feeling like I also have to move on, but I want to move on to England, heh (while he's dying to get out of there). And you just sit there and think about how you want to move on, but you also get nostalgic, thinking about all your good times. It's like you start to think to yourself, "man, there's never going to be good times like these anymore," so you just keep remembering them to comfort yourself.

I love this song. It's the perfect description of someone who's ready for the next part of his/her life.
