To me, this song is about a guy who's like isn't the greatest (My path is not behind me, I cling to the shreds). However, there's a girl who makes him feel like life's worth living, she brings him "to another world." Towards the end of the song, he has a dream about the girl (So I sleep, I sleep to dream, I dream to wake up in your arms, Breathe you in and kiss the lips of angel), but wakes up to find out that his dream is a reality (I take comfort in the fact that when I dream, that world is gone).
