I believe Shawn (guitarist, vox) wrote this about one of the experiences a band member had with a girlfriend years back. This song is a bit like Cemetery Gates by Pantera, except colder and expresses self doubt as a result of this. And he actually says "Yeah" after a slight pause, not care. He also actually says "my love at hand". The drowning allusion at the end is of course, the member slipping deeper into depression.
