Mike I like your idea for the shadows part. Pretty creative. The earth sinking part is really confusing. The only comparison I can think of that makes sense is like, when the sun sets, or at night, people suddenly start doing all the 'sinful' things that they hide during the day. Like hiring hookers for example. They 'sink' morally.
I really wish there was a forum for this whole event on DDG's site or something so we didn't all have to abuse the song meanings site. =P
