Not that I'm some Corey Taylor expert or anything...

But the lines "I don't want to be an angel; I just want to be God" does make sense, even if Corey is a follower of the Law of One.

I don't know if Corey is a follower, but the Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey states that God is you. You treat yourself as God. Therefore everyone is equal.

I believe the song is Corey giving a f*** you to everyone that said that he wouldn't be successful with his music... as well as I believe that its also meant to be interpretted by the individual. By that I mean the idea that its about staying true to yourself.

Corey stayed true to his self by not giving up on music and he wanted people to be able to use this song as inspiration to do the same. If someone is on your back about something because they don't like it then give them a big f*** you and do it.
