I've always thought this was a song about a couple addicted to some sort of opiate, (heroin for example). The girl of the couple is going out to whore herself so the two of them can get some heroin, and this is supposed to be their last score. They are both aware it isn't but this song seems to be about the lies we tell ourselves in the face of our addictions.
