Cover art for Right in Time lyrics by Lucinda Williams

I was so excited when I heard this song on The L Word! I love Lucinda, she's my favorite!!!

I think this song is so beautiful and simple. Just meeting someone and connecting, coming together, in a way where you just move right in time with each other.

I don't understand the verses though, they're so sad. I guess in the chorus she is maybe reminiscing (sp?) about how they used to move right in time with each other.

Anyways, it's beautiful.

The song is about the early days when she used to shoot up heroine or whatever. That is the reference to the permanent tattoo and piercing the skin in the first verse. Think about it and rest of the song makes perfect sense. She is over the stove in the second verse to sterilize the needle.
