I love Alabama 3. While critics understandably try to pigeon-hole them into an amalgamation of genres, I would venture to say they are their own genre much like Red Hot Chili Peppers started their own. While there's "nothing new under the sun" with regard to music in that there are only a finite amount of chord progressions that are pleasing to the the human ear, Alabama 3 melds their influences into a whole new monster. It takes real artistic talent to pull that off.
