I dont know; but I honestly think this song is about her being very weary and guarded when it comes to relationships, and not wanting to get hurt. She blocks out her feelings in order to avoid the pain of perhaps rejection, heartbreak etc.
I only say this cuz this applies to my situation, and it sounds pretty darn right.
