To me, this sounds sort of like an anthem for all the kids, hell, all the people that go through life dealing with being "different", no matter what kind of different. And it's sort a slap in the face to all those people who said "[he'd] won't amount to anything" and to all those "friends" "saying she sleeps with everyone".
It definitely reinforces the old adage "never judge a book by it's cover".
