I expect he's putting another take on the song 'so long, goodbye' (also on this new album), which is generally accepted to be about Dave baksch, until very previously a member of sum 41, who decided to leave as he did not like the musical direction sum41 was taking (among other reasons). Whilst so long goodbye seems to be reasonably positive, and saying 'I understand you had to move on', it appears Mr. Whibley is letting out the other side of his feelings in this song. In this song he seems to wish Dave the worst, rather than the best. He seems to wish that Dave feels regret as to throwing away what was a very good chance to maintain relative fame and fortune, and for his own solo project (the brown brigade) to be a failure, as to show that it was either deryck or the sums as a group that had the talent, rather than Dave individually. I could probably ramble for a while about all the little meanings, but I won't, so feel happy!
