Oh, and to the post asking about remembrance songs, if its not too late, a response just off the top of my head:
Rufus wainwright's "In a Graveyard." Its a beautiful piano-based piece. "Worldly sounds of endless warring were for just a moment silent stars. Worldly boundaries of dying were for just a moment never ours."
Leonard Cohen's "Hey, thats no way to say goodbye" (This may not be what you're looking for...). "You know my love goes with you as your love stays with me,
it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea ... your eyes are soft with sorrow. Hey, that's no way to say goodbye."
OK Go's "Return." Its much more current and ... I dunno how soft of a sound you want but, while it sounds melancholy, it isn't very soft, "The void took the shape of all that you were, but years take their toll and things get bent into shape. Antiseptic and tired, I can't remember your face."
Everything else I can think of (Elton john's "Candle in the wind," and that "I will remember you," song. meh) is pretty cliche...
