Hayley Westenra is one of my favourite artists and I prefer this version of this song. I, too, feel it is about looking at both sides of life. Its about experiencing the good and bad sides to things. "Clouds" stop you from doing things because they "rain and snow on everyone" as to like put hem down, stop them going out and doing things. When you first fall in love you see yourself in a fairytale like situation. However,

When you get dumped or you break up, the other person is seen to be laughing in your face. And you have to pretend you dont care and this is what shes talking about.
