I think it's about falling in love, getting lost in everything, and then having a break down in communication and being unsure of what each other is really thinking, at which point the relationship becomes unremarkable ("you all look the same") and then he tries to get back with her ("and you call out") while she doesn't listen or chooses not to listen. The relatioship eventually comes to an end, although there is some liberation at the end when she sings "you'll always feel cold without me." love it.
