I love this song, the one line in the beginning is what the song's about:

It's about courage and bravery and putting your life on the line to save another.
I see this as a song for Harry Potter actually... (just from reading what he's had to do for the wizarding world and such. I'm not spoiling the ending of D.H just in case, but this song speaks what sacrifices he's had to make 'so a stranger can live').
And it's such a coast guard song too obviously, about how they risk their lives every day to save the innocent that get stuck or lost in the water...
