To me it's about the "machine". We all believe that life is great and everyone is a good perosn, but it's all a lie. Everyone cons each other and steal other's work in order to reach their material desires. Then they turn around and think that no one will do it to them and they're the only ones who think that way. They don't realize that everyone is a magician (using smoke and mirrors to make people disappear, etc).
