Scrap your fey ways? Need any one comment further?
Thanks, EddieB. As with all else, this is just My Humble Opine...
This is one of his 'prettiest' songs, as I often wake up singing it.
Growing up with a manic Brit dad myself, I think you're right.
My dad used to comment on my sexuality, as if his words might shape it.
He often came up with such terms.
"Fey-way", or fag, gay way. My dad was often quite verbally clever.
'Scrap your fey ways' rings, to me, his dad's request (hope?) to stop being so gay-ish.
Whatever that means.
There is no doubt, to me, that...
There is no doubt, to me, that this song was slanted (aimed) towards his dad, as was "Late Night, Maudlin St."
Again, IMHO.
Thanks, Eddie!
