BUT! animal collective would never simply write a song about one particular person like that, so i'm sure everything sung about jack the ripper is symbolism on a higher order rather than what i said. plus, there are so many lines in the song that i can't attach to my JtR theory.
That's good stuff. My guess is Jack the ripper is some kind of metaphor. Like how people can look really good on the outside but sinister on the inside. Or maybe it's about remorse; like getting looked at by all these different colored eyes is about remorse for sins you've committed. This song always makes me think of devious men swindling naive girls.
