I used to think this was about a woman trying to decide whether or not to break up with a guy, but then I listened to it a few more times. Now I think it's about a woman trying to decide whether or not to have an abortion.

"If you're really meant to be, then you'll be back again" - she could have a child later when she's ready

"And I'll watch as your beginning turns into the end" - the child's life is over as it was beginning

"With a kick inside, in the dark you hide" - babies kick, and hide in the dark inside the mother

"With your little tide, and your eyes shut wide" - little tide could be like the warm, wet environment inside the womb

"Do I love you if I leave you/You have no name" - she hasn't picked out a name for it yet

"If it's you or if it's me I save, I'm still throwing it all away" - if she aborts the child, she saves herself and the future she wanted, if she keeps the child, she saves it.

I don't know if it makes sense to anyone but me, but that's what I think. Maybe I'm stretching it. :-)
