The drum groove was an idea that Ben had been messing around with for some time and it seemed to fit the into the context of the song. It wasn't a song that we wanted to refine so much, but more a song that we could indulge a little on. We wrote the section between the 1st and 2nd verse to sound up lifting and then decided to add the Piano and string parts to help achieve this. In the middle section we added a gong, chimes and the sounds of smashing glass because, well, basically because we could! "
