Well, while this song can be taken as a prequel to Divine Wings of Tragedy, which is also about Lucifer, it is more obviously the concluding song on a concept album based on Milton's Paradise Lost- the song therefore deals with Satan victorious, having succesfully tempted Eve and subsequently Adam and getting them ejected from paradise as he had been. However, Satan finds that his "revenge is bittersweet"- the chorus reflects his desire to rise above the whole system of good and evil and the revenge cycle. A masterpiece of a closer to a masterpiece of an album, and a great take on Milton's poem.
