i think i agree with you heartrocketblast, that Christian's faith is so solidified that he can stay in the dark and be a light to the "people without names" or unbelivers, and show them the way. The first part of the song kind of reminds me how God works in mysterious ways and leads him to a place where he might not really want to be but it is where God is using him. The part where he says trade love for the city lights i think is how he is trading being in the company of fellow christians and how fun and loving that is and could easily live like that but instead God calls him to the slums of the city to minister His word
