I read the Other day in AP that around the time that Silverstein was writing this album they were on their first real break after touring for 4 years.
Two of the band members had relatives die before their break.
And also Shane and his girlfriend of 7 years broke up right before/during the process of writing this album and on their break.
Shane said a lot of the songs are based on what he was feeling with his girlfriend breaking up with him, and the feelings he had for her while they were together.
I think this is where a lot of the songs are coming from, and I feel bad for Shane.
But the new album is amazing :)
