new comment after 3 years... I agree with sazbo-19,this song is for sure about being very close to the person you love and yet there is nothing you can do to be with him/her again,like there is an invisible wall between you...now:

he describes a picture like he sees it when in a lonely walk trough the city streets and what he sees makes his loneliness unbearable

I agree with it all appart from the last part about flying. I always thought of it more literlay, like he cannot fly but is going to jump off the building and try (commiting suicide in the process)
