Hank is a relatively well known character, whom has been played by Mickey Rourke in the movie Barfly and, recently, by Matt Damon in the movie Factotum, both movies based on the works of Bukowski. War All the TIme is a published volume of Bukowski's poems. Chinaski, often referred to as Bukowski's alter ego, was a heavy drinker, hence the bar/happy hour being his fortress.
