Okay it talks about a woman.[duh] & the man speaks in first person. He either has hate for the woman or the world she lives in. [My guess both.]
It's pretty spiteful. He's given up on her and love he can't find happiness, or peace. He's given up on society around him because it doesn't meet his standards. He wishes his pain & torment would become hers. " Can this torment bring me peace"
in other words can the torment he feels belong to her instead which, would bring him to peace knowing she's suffered just as well.
