first off, it's "i crash, i cry, i burn but I" not "burn my eyes"
nonetheless, this is one of my favorite phish songs because it is classic Phish in that the song actually does have a meaning if you think about it. In my opinion, this is about a guy trusting a girl that he likes to lead him to better things, but she never steps up and does it. He reflects with questions that don't really seem to fit in with the rest of the song like "Why is the sea cold?" or "Why can't the burden we carry go away?" It's almost as if he's asking God all these questions as a result of this girl not wanting the same thing that he does. He always comes back to the fact that he wishes it was friday(either in a literal sense or friday in the sense of things looking hopeful and getting easier). Finally, he says that although he has crashed, cried, and burned, he will continue to seemingly blindly follow this girl.
