What I think this song is about, is God, and 'Home' is Heaven..
Just listening to it, and paying attention to the lyrics, I found it sounds alot like God is the person he's sorta talking with and Heaven is home.
I completely agree. My sister just passed away and the same night I was listening to the radio and heard this song. I knew it was perfect for her funeral and my whole family agreed.

God and Heaven are exactly what I think of when I hear this song. I am battling leukemia and will have a stem cell transplant in a few months. I told my husband that if, for some reason, I don't make it, that I want this song played at my funeral. (But I'm going to keep fighting because I'm not ready to go "Home" yet!)

@bjones34, i am sincerely sorry for your loss. my friend passed away at 12 years old because of cancer. as much as I miss her, I know she is home, and she's no longer in any pain. the same goes for your sister. may god embrace you and your family during this challenging time. <3 <3 <3
