I think it's important to listen to both songs together for the message to really sink in. Basically, in the first song, this man is searching for happiness. He looks to materialistic possessions. He works long and hard for money and all he wishes is for more time so he can "slow down." When he searches for happiness, he dreams of "numbers and dollar signs," but when he wakes, he realizes that he can never accomplish what he wants. In this song, he realizes that his "American dream" can never be satisfied. He can only find true happiness through giving everything away. This message is really deep. Love this song/CD.
