I love this song.

The lyrics seem pretty evident to me - cee-lo recognizes the inherent worth in his life. I also interpret him saying that 'If life's not worth anything - then why are you living ?' By knowing the value of life , he's thankful for still being alive despite his past mistakes and at the same time, doesn't want his life to end yet. Besides his recognition and appreciation of life, he's calling out others to do the same in the second verse. He starts out with "I said stand up everybody This is your life You gotta get it when you can, ya’ll"
It's a call to recognize the value of life and live it (doesn't say much how to live it, except 'to have it and fun this is your (knive) life' and perhaps, a balance of good and bad, as found in verse one.

Later in the second verse, Cee-Lo take no excuses for not living. "And if ain’t fear, then what’s stopping you from going Do you not want to be responsible for knowing? ‘Cause ignorance is bliss And ignorance is just so fuckin' ignorant you may even be ignorant of this"

This is a call to recognize the value of life and to live it as such. Cee-lo's talent is making this call not sound condescending and make it sound good.
