Keeper Lyrics

Like many of Yellowcard's songs, this is once again about a relationship gone awry. In the beginning, the narrator is very conflicted. It sounds like he was not completely honest, and now that things have gotten really bad, he looks back with regret, wishing he could have done things differently. It seems like the song is about the narrator and his future ex-lover talking to try and salvage the relationship, even though he knows that any effort will be fruitless. The narrator wants everything to be okay, but it won't; he just cannot continue. She apparently fell pretty hard for him, but he says that "he's just bad news for you." But the relationship in this song is over due to lack of honesty. This is a really powerful song, and is one of the best on Paper Walls, and one of Yellowcard's best ever. The vocals are very powerful, and I'm impressed at Ryan K. and Yellowcard on a whole for this album.
