when i first listened i thought, oh its about a lover, but i listened a little more and to me its about a relationship.. not necessarily a lover, maybe a family member like a brother or father and shes talking about how shes trying to brace herself for the emotional damage thats being caused by the other person with out them really noticing it and how they make her feel so small in this world like she doesn't even matter, then shes talking about how she needs to find herself because sheslost herself in the midst of all this damage, "at the turn of the tide i feel this part of me die " then she says "Overboard I’m thrown out to see what you are and what I mean to me
But I will always have my dream where you can swim to me" saying she will always dream that she can go back to the beginning when everything was great, and myabe find herself and that person who you used to be. thats just what it means to me.
