Most of us fans know that the drummer of the band, Aaron Solowuniuk, (however you spell his last name) has MS, or multiple schlerosis. "This is how it goes" off of their debut album is about his MS. So, I think this song is about it. Aaron doesn't want special treatment because he has MS. "Oh, give him a break, he has MS." No, nobody should want that.
Yeah, some people give sympathy to make themselves feel/look good. I think that is why the guy in the CD booklet has a halo ontop, because it appears he/she appears to be a great person because of the sympathy they gave.
