The Pope and his consorts arrive in Avantasia (mammon is a biblical word meaning material wealth and richness). The Pope claims they’ve been elected to fight against evil… for profit? How does that work?
Gabriel accuses them of being blind, and sees the Church as castigating everything and drowning people in their wine (ramming their holiness down everyone’s throat).
The Bishop then brings up the Ten Commandments as a form of justification for their actions, and says his job is to judge anyone who doesn’t fear the Lord.
The Elf then warns Gabe that the Pope’s war against Evil will destroy Avantasia (because people won’t be able to dream any more), and when Avantasia is destroyed, the world will be slaves to the holy orders.
The Dwarf then tells Gabe that he’s the chosen one, chosen (by Vandroiy?) to help he and Elderane win the war (anyone getting Narnia flashbacks yet?). Regrin wants Gabe to reclaim the book that he read (the one the Pope now has), because the Pope has no idea what he’s doing.
Regrin says that Gabe’s mind has been sheltered from the truth for too long, he’s been a sheep in the flock, and now he’s got to wake up and save Avantasia - and himself (and presumably, the world).
Gabe promises to do so, saying that a dream is forever (his dream with Anna certainly seems to be…), so Avantasia will be fine. Who could be powerful enough to destroy a dream?
