Given To Dreams

I think this song is about a broken dream and the decay of it the "she cried when she found it" part makes me think of a bird, and I think that the bird may have been a metaphor for a dream, maybe cause birds fly high up in the air and dreams are sometimes too high up for us to reach. When it says "wings were no longer able, still she begged it to fly" I think it's kind of that the dream hit rock bottom but she was desperate for it to 'soar' again, for it to come true. When it says that she "prayed it to heaven" I think it means that she's finally realised that her dream will never come true and so she's resigning all hope and laying it to rest. Or maybe it's simply talking about a dead bird.
