My take may be a bit more epic, But it's how it came across to me. In the bible, Blue signifies truth from a celestial origin, which is truth from God. I think this song is a meshing of God and Time Rolling over us wothout yield. The splash of light that sends you airborne, Like divine light ascending you to heaven. Gold has often signified Christ. Most of it paints an apocolytic-like picture of an end of some sort.. Then there is the imagery of tears and sadness, but then let it fall ... it's alright. The end "All are believing none are alarmed" is almost saying we all new we had it coming
