I got to thinking about it, and I thought maybe this was about child abuse ( "beat him up black and blue" ), and further more, kiddie porn. It's more likely about the media and celebrities, but I like to think there's a more creative story being told than more of that old rot.
Perhaps she's telling the story of someone who was forced into the world of child pornography when they were young, and in turn, as an adult, repeated those horrors to another child, or children; "Turn him into a video kid like you...", "We're only repeating, the motions preceeding..." See?
All that stuff about lying could be cover-up for the wretched things they're doing.
