About innocence, about hope - as always, it seems. About a little girl abused by people around her, but still having faith in life, in her dreams, in good side of human nature. She sets on her journey to find the better side of life, to find the humanity in people probably. That's the overall meaning, it seems. I don't think Tuomas ever tried to be very specific with his lyrics, trying to tell some specific story or something. Instead he always was able to express emotions like no one else can. I mean, it's a whole life in a song. It's so full of pure beauty, innocence and hope... It's unbelievable. That's what art was always supposed to be.
You don't need Tarja's strong vocals to deliver this song to people. The words are strong enough.
Honestly, the more I read the lyrics AND listen to this one, the more I think this is probably one of the best Tuomas' works to date.
