I think that there are two people she is referring to in the song, one being the cheating/whatever boyfriend and the other being the guy/girl she goes to for comfort (hence the chorus - it's kind of like this person's reply to her going to them "you'll be just fine now, here by my side"). I think I remember reading that the lead singer is bisexual, so perhaps in the chorus she is referring to a woman ("they will never find out about us")...
I'll admit my theory's a little far-fetched, but I had fun coming up with it anyhow. That boyfriend of hers must've really hurt her bad.
