hmm, it may be a personal situation that's making me think this, but it sounds to me like someone likes the songwriter, and they're close friends, and the songwriter knows that the person is really awesome, and in their head, it all makes perfect sense to just go out with that person. but, there's no real feelings other then friendship. And so, they're trying to basically say, "you're really rad, and in my head, dating you would be awesome, but there's just no chemistry. my heart doesn't feel anything like that for you."
