whoever said todays metal sucks is very wrong. listen to machine head, dragonforce, soilwork, children of bodom, kataklysm, i killed the prom queen, and trivum. all good stuff, but ANYWAYS
getting back to the meaning of the song. its about the rise of bay area thrash and when metal was starting to fill the ears of people instead of rock n' roll.
p.s.- st. anger was aight, it was a disappointment compared to master of puppets or ride the lightning but metallica will never be like it was before when Cliff Burton was still alive. That and the fact that hetfield is sober, there isn't much room to write another metal masterpiece and try to quit something that you've been addicted to for the past 20+ years. so everyone quitcha bitchin.
