and you're also kind of a dick, and NOFX wrote a song about people who think the way that you do, called "the black and white." check it out.
some people DO think that you're cool for doing drugs, and a lot of those people participate in the scene that NOFX grew up in. infact, every member of NOFX was probably one of those people, at one point. this gives NOFX the perfect perspective to write a song like this, since they aren't just judgemental fucks who don't actually know anything yet still treat their opinion as if it were fact, like you. just because YOU have a low opinion of people who think that doing drugs is cool and you like NOFX at the same time, that doesn't mean that fat mike agrees with you.
i think fat mike is dead serious about everything he's saying. he likes drugs. they are relatively cheap. when you do them, people will think you are cool. this is documented fact. it's presented in a tongue-in-cheek manner but i don't think it's sarcasm. i think, if anything, that he's making fun of the person he used to be (and the punk culture as a whole) while sort of saluting it at the same time. punks have a weird respect for people who make their lives intentionally harder by making a shitload of "bad" decisions for selfish reasons and live through it, and NOFX certainly did that.
it's not all black and white, is all i'm saying. you can make fun of shit you did while still respecting the fact that you did it.
