I know a few people have commented that the "But really, life is daily" line is obscure; I think it's kind of like the quote, "Life is what happens when we're making other plans"; she's saying she doesn't like reality, but it's happening every day, life is happening every day, and she's been living unconsciously, only stopping to reflect at the "exits", the big moments, like on autopilot.
I don't really understand all of the dog/moon imagery, we can only look at the facts and interpret from there...dogs howl at FULL moons, they don't bark at NEW moons, do they? I guess something about transformation, cycles, seasons, something like that...any more ideas?
@girlofspirit I think the dogs barking at the new moon is referencing a Tarot card XVIII The Moon (It has a wild dog and coyote/wolf barking at a new moon), it represents the consciousness becoming aware, uncertain paths, change etc
