this song reminds me of people that try to be different for the sake of being "unique". however, they choose to see it as their taking a perceivably less traveled path, and then choose to believe that they are somehow better than someone who many not be as "strange" or "out of the ordinary". they feel they're "brav[ing] the role of black sheep"
and of course, chorus (verse, hook, whatever) that starts with "if you see me you'll be crossing the street" is just beautiful and smooth as hell.
