My first impression of this song was definitely a prostitute - "angel of the night" - constantly referred to with different names...such as "New York witch."
The story of it, or at least the story I draw from it, seems to be a man in the city constantly teased by temptations like sex...and maybe describing a particular prostitute he met?
Maybe that's thinking too literally...
I do love this song though. Catchy, very catchy, makes me tap my foot :)
