i pretty much agree with sk8er, although for me it has more to do with that the singer isn't with whoever they're singing about anymore for whatever reason (means something in particular to me, although it could be anything). so its about how he/she is dealing with it. seems to me like they're taking a fair share of the blame in whatever happened.

and then the singer is just trying to make light of the whole situation
"There's a patch of blue in the stormy sky,
A memory of a brighter time."
for me it really clicked with some stuff i have going on, but i guess that's the point, it means different things to different people
as for the video, i have no clue, i just know its pretty darn cute, makes me happy :]
