Its just about us as people wanting to discover more about the world. We know so little and accept what we hear.
We are told that there is "one space, a universe" , but we continue to ask questions why things have to be the way they are, but no one knows the real answer.
From religious beliefs we are just told that god said "let there be life", or the scientific view of the big bang theory. We wonder about our existence and the way things are.
Its like asking where the world itself came from, people have religious and scientific theories about the world which cannot be proven. So therefore the world itself is like a "blind child" which cannot communicate with us to tell us.
You could say the world feels like a "confined habitat" as you wake up in the morning and realise that you are still in the same place on earth, feeling trapped.
So when we die will we find the answers to our questions?
Or will we all just rot in boxes and never know?
However it looks like Rou may have linked this to a relationship with someone.
Sounds like he may have cheated on his girlfriend up until the point he got found out and regretted it.
In the beginning of the song it shows how the world is just a mystery to us all, while referring to the relationship between him and his girlfriend. It’s a mystery to her if she is really being cheated on so she “asks the same questions” to her boyfriend (Rou). But she takes his word for it when he says No, just like the way we accept the religious and scientific theories of the world.
Finally the truth comes out; he breaks up with his girlfriend. And he wants to get back together with her. (“I need you”)
But he is just left there to “collect the tears” and see the damage it has caused (girl upset, crying)
As the lines “I collect the tears, fallen from even the hardest of eyes…” might be saying that even the toughest people feel weak at times. She seemed like a strong person, he didn’t think that her being cheated on would upset her so much.
He just couldn’t see the pain the lies would have caused at the time. Cheating on her felt like it wouldn’t do any harm since she wouldn’t find out. Like, how we may not find the out anything more about this world when we die. (if we do just rot in boxes)
I dont know if this will make sense, but anyway.
