You're wrong! You're all bloody wrong! I am a MASSIVE Snow Patrol fan, and agree would like to say a few things on this.
NEVER, EVER, call them "The Patrol"
This song is supposed to be for a MOVIE. It is about love etc. (the song), and any band asked to write a song like this for a movie, whether it be Snow Patrol or the Beatles, if they were all alive, would have come up with something similar. I agree, it's NOT one of their BEST songs, but it has a BRILLIANT mobie soundtrack quality to it, and for that reason I simply love it. It does NOT sound like a cross between "Headlights" and "The Finish Line", in fact NOTHING like any of Snow Patrol's other songs. It is totally unique to this kind of genre, and for that it should be respected.
The lyrics ARE "No I won't wait forever" not anything else.
The true meaning of the song? Well, obviously love, and all that, but to me it means more. As Celebrindal said, it also reminds me of myself and my best friend, who lives all the way in the USA (I live in the Netherlands), and when we parted.
Snow Patrol have launched a competition for a music video to this. Anyone think they can beat Spiderman, have a look at their website.
