I agree with the above two comments. Especially about the guitar parts. After hearing Radiohead's 'the bends', you appreciate this song a whole lot more.
With regards to the song, I get the feeling it's about someone feeling theyre surrounded by fakes (tinseltowns a nickname for hollywood) and that she feels alone.

This line says to me that she thought living in this environment (not sure if its actually about hollywood or not) seemed like it was going to do her good at first, but obviously it didn't (a funfair trip, a carousel, she's trying to hold on).
